Halictus confusus
Confusing Furrow Bee
A small sweat bee with a metallic greenish head and thorax and a black abdomen with narrow white hair bands. It is widespread across Switzerland in gardens, meadows, and ruderal areas from lowlands to montane elevations, and is a generalist forager visiting flowers from at least 10 plant families. It nests in self-excavated burrows in bare or sparsely vegetated soil, often in small aggregations on sunny banks and paths. Swiss Red List: Near Threatened (NT).
