Lasioglossum calceatum

Common Furrow Bee

One of the most widespread Lasioglossum species in Europe. Females (7–9 mm) have a metallic green head and thorax, a black abdomen with broad white hair bands, and reddish-brown hind tarsi. It is primitively eusocial with small annual colonies and a generalist forager. In Switzerland it occurs in gardens, meadows, and ruderal areas from lowlands to subalpine elevations . Swiss Red List: Least Concern (LC).
