Halictus rubicundus
Orange-legged Furrow Bee
A medium-sized halictid bee characterised by reddish-brown abdominal hair bands and a metallic green head and thorax. It nests solitarily in self-excavated burrows in open soil and is common across Switzerland in meadows and gardens. It is an important pollinator of wildflowers in meadows and gardens during early summer, foraging on a wide range of plant species. Swiss Red List: Least Concern (LC).
