Large-headed Resin Bee

A very small, entirely black resin bee with a distinctly broad head and dense white hair bands on the abdomen. It nests in pre-existing cavities in dead wood, hollow stems, and bee hotels, sealing cells with plant resin. It is common in Swiss gardens and forest edges. Swiss Red List: Least Concern (LC).
