Anthidium oblongatum
Oblong Wool Carder Bee
A small wool carder bee that nests in rock crevices, dry stone walls, and mortar joints. It is a warmth-loving species of dry meadows, rocky slopes, vineyards, and ruderal areas. Males patrol flower patches and defend territories aggressively. In Switzerland it is found in warm lowlands and valleys, nesting in fissures and cracks in walls and rocks. Swiss Red List: Least Concern (LC).
