Lasioglossum sexstrigatum
Six-grooved Furrow Bee
A very small Lasioglossum (5–6 mm) with a metallic green head and thorax and a black abdomen with six distinct narrow white hair bands — the species name refers to these six bands. It is a solitary ground-nesting bee that prefers sandy soils in warm, sunny locations. In Switzerland it is widespread in dry meadows, sand pits, and ruderal areas from lowlands to montane elevations. Swiss Red List: Least Concern (LC).
