Six-banded Furrow Bee
A large Halictus with six distinct ochre-yellow hair bands on the abdomen and a broad head. It is a warmth-loving species found in dry meadows, vineyards, and ruderal areas in Swiss lowland valleys, especially in the Valais and Ticino. It prefers dry, warm habitats with open soil patches for nesting and is associated with flower-rich ruderal areas, vineyards, and extensively managed grasslands. Swiss Red List: Near Threatened (NT).
