Hylaeus gibbus
Gibbus Yellow-face Bee
A small black yellow-face bee with white facial markings in both sexes and a somewhat humpbacked appearance to the thorax. It nests in hollow stems and cavities. In Switzerland it is found in warm, dry habitats such as vineyards, dry meadows, and ruderal areas, visiting a variety of wildflowers including umbellifers and composites. Swiss Red List: Least Concern (LC).
