Hylaeus nigritus
Black Yellow-face Bee
A robust yellow-face bee with a black body that is one of the darkest Hylaeus species, with males having only small white facial spots. It nests in hollow stems and beetle burrows in dead wood. In Switzerland it is common in meadows, gardens, and forest edges from lowlands to alpine elevations. Swiss Red List: Least Concern (LC).
