Hylaeus punctatus
Punctate Yellow-face Bee
A small yellow-face bee with a black body and white facial markings, characterized by fine, dense punctuation on the scutum. Females have two small white face spots while males have a full white face mask. It nests in hollow stems and beetle burrows in dead wood. In Switzerland it occurs in warm, dry habitats such as dry meadows, vineyards, and ruderal areas from lowlands to montane elevations. Swiss Red List: Least Concern (LC).
